Today was my Shower Day. And this is how I feel about it:
[I would have found a more suitable picture involving a human victim, but I figured it was a little too kiddie porensque to show a screaming child in the bath tub. Especially since the google search pictures of kids in bathtime, are not my own. And sure this dog is not my own either but I figured it was okay since he apparently baths with his coat on.]
Shower Day. Shower Day happens about twice a week for me. Three times if I want to feel especially clean. One time a week if I am feeling especially artisitc. But I HATE Shower Day. I grudgingly look to shower day like one would at their annual pap smear (*schmear depending where you're from). It seems pointless, takes time out of my morning, and you have yo redo your hair afterwards. I seriously hate it. I end up going in there determined to quickly do what needs to get done and 40 minutes later I am still staring at the same piece of hair on the shower wall, that miracuously looks like the Virgin Mary, lost in my own thoughts.
Queen Elizabeth remains my hero for several reasons- powerful woman, rocks the ginger look, developed the idea killing someone because of their religion might not work out for many people, all solid qualities for an impressionable woman like myself to look up to, but really it comes down to the fact that she only bathed once a month and rocked it. I am not an extremeist I am not saying I support the once a year kind of thing but I think once a month shower is a generous compromise. And the Virgin Queen was considered the "perfect embodiement of cleanliness," because of her hygeine habits.
You can just call me the "perfect embodiment of being able to rock 4 day old hair."

Or Don't.

I agree. Showing is such a hassle. Especially when you have the hair of a lion. I can't count on one hand the number of times my shower has been less than 20 mins. Oh to be in high school again and not shower for a week. Or you could just be on the swim team again and not shower for a month.
ReplyDeletelion girl- look into a brazilian blowout it changes lives.
ReplyDeletemace-i miss you.I also needed to come here to tell you that you really needn't take a shower again ever in your life. Have you read Wicked? I think you have- well anyway Elphalba as you might recall was allergic to water.(A true condition- Aquagenic urticaria). She cleaned herself daily in oils. Raw essential oils are anti viral and anti fungal and basically dothe same job as soap andwater if not a better one. I was at a loss as to what to tell you about the dirty hair issue once you've oiled yourself down- but then I remembered about dry shampoo! look into it. I just so happen to be a representative for a great essential oil company in orem utah called doTerra and can get you wholesale prices on oils. Seriously, think about it. you can start a new no showering trend or maybe just tell everyone you suddenly developed Aquagenic urticaria?
